Our Art Neighbourhood – over to you!
Our Art Neighbourhood, the summer arts project for Leigh, is off to a flying start!
Workshops are already taking place in community groups and social clubs across Leigh – and now it’s your turn!
We’re organising 6 public workshops over the next few weeks which are open to anybody and everybody – just turn up on the day!
You can learn how to create urban art from local artist Gecko using stencils and aerosol paints…
You can sign up for digital art workshops and learn how to create masterpieces on a computer screen…
Or alternatively, you might be interested in learning the basics of knitting or crocheting as part of our exciting yarn bombing project, which aims to create quirky, woolly embellishments on street furniture across the town centre.
The public events are happening on the following days:
- Tuesday 29th July: 11am – 3pm @ Civic Square
- Thursday 7th August: 1pm – 4pm @ Sacred Heart School Hall
- Thursday 14th August: 1pm – 4pm @ Turnpike Gallery
- Thursday 21st August: 1pm – 4pm @ Kingsleigh Methodist
- Tuesday 26th August: 11am – 3pm @ Civic Square
- Saturday 30th August: 10am – 2pm @ As in Eden
Hope to see you there!
