Cleaning Up! Young People Make A Difference!
If you’ve been strolling down Walmesley Road this week, you might have noticed that it’s looking… well, a bit spruced up!! Brambles have disappeared… overgrown thicket has been cleared… and hard-to-reach litter has vanished!
No, the furze fairy hasn’t paid a visit!
It’s down to our friends from the Leigh Prince’s Trust Team Programme – a group of fantastic young people who are once again devoting their time and energy to improving our neighbourhood here in the Leigh Neighbours patch.
The Prince’s Trust Team Programme – an initiative managed by the charity Groundwork – is a personal development programme for 16-25 year olds which gives young people an opportunity to learn new skills, embark on exciting challenges, stretch their limits and grow in confidence.
Leigh Neighbours helped fund the project, with additional funding provided by the young people taking part in a Tesco bag pack collection.
