Be Seen. Be Safe.
Leo Dickinson and his granddad Mark came along to our Be Seen Be Safe event last Saturday and had a new bell and some new lights fitted on his bike – fitted by our wonderful PCSO, Barrie Jones from GMP Leigh. And he had his bike serviced by our friends from Gearing Up, as well.
Dozens of cyclists of all ages turned up at Sacred Heart RC Primary School to have their bikes serviced for winter.
John Gredecki from the Leigh Neighbours Board says: “The event was a great success. Altogether, we serviced about 40 bikes to make them ready for winter and also gave away about 20 sets of lights, as well as dozens of bells and reflective safety snap bands which help make cyclists more visible in the dark. Another example of how the Leigh Neighbours Big Local lottery money is being invested in practical projects at a grassroots level. If you’ve got any idea on how we can invest in the community, there’s a Residents Fund you can apply for so why not get in touch?.”
